Arriving relaxed at your final ski destination has to be the ultimate luxury. Alternatively, gain more ski and boarding time on the slopes and then relax over night at the epoque Hôtel Million located in the centre of Albertville. An accolade for this hotel is the restaurantwhich has appeared in the Guide Michelin since its first edition back in 1900. The hotel is suitable for all our beneficiaries except those who are full time wheelchair users - the lift is on the small side. But it is accessible for anyone wishing to enjoy a gastronomic delight either for lunch or dinner and then proceeding onwards towards the ski resorts. Within a short distance you can be up in Les 3 Vallées; Paradiski or the Haute Tarentaise.
The rooms are wonderfully old-fashioned but extremely clean and comfortable. The whole place breathes nostalgia and by gone days of elegance. Once upon a time in Savoie there was an Etoile du Nord, come to life in 1770. Taken to the heights by the Million family and renamed Hôtel Million, it shines in the heart of Albertville close to the Olympic Museum. A proud, beautiful abode several hundred years of age, it was taken over in 1999 by José de Anacleto (former student of Philippe Million) and his wife Su-Chen, who share a passion for welcoming and pleasing guests. For your business or leisure stays, expansive spaces brimming with charm and cosy atmosphere and an air-conditioned meeting room accommodating 50 persons are at your service.
The restaurant is closed on Sunday night but have no worries as there is the gem of a place just around the corner a butcher by day and a gourmet delight of meat by night! Station Chatel is a total must place to stop and eat at.
Extremely good value with a simple but excellent menu. All home produced and the meat is first class. A total winner of a place and well worth ensuring you allow time on your journey to stop and be refreshed! Minutes from the auto-route take the time to by-pass the hamburger joint on the round about and take a few hundred metres further along and hey presto you are in heaven - probably not the best place if you or many of your party are vegetarian..... They also do a take-away service. As an example a meal for two with wine was 54 Euros (enough food really to feed at least three people and including a pudding) Station Chatel Albertville.
