Skiing with Addison's Disease in Les 2 Alpes France
Family ski holiday - a dream come true!
A dream comes true for Susan John who suffers from Addison's Disease, which has similar characteristics to Multiple Sclerosis, when she took a family ski holiday in Les 2 Alpes and found a new meaning to her life thanks to her courage and the help from her disability ski instructor Loic who works for ESF Les 2 Alpes. Sue was a skier but as her condition has worsened this was an activity which she felt would never continue. So having contacted Ski 2 Freedom for help and having informed us that they were booked with Neilson Holidays to go to Les 2 Alpes it was a simple matter of explaining the options open to her and immediately putting Sue in touch with ESF Les 2 Alpes. Sue had courageously been having some pre-holiday sessions with Ice Cool Kids which is based in Wales. An email arrives at Ski 2 Freedom even before the ski holiday has finished: > “I just wanted to briefly let you know I'm just having the best time... which is why it's only now I'm getting around to emailing you! I'll tell you more when I get back, but the sit skiing is just great and Loic has got to be the best instructor! I struggled with the dual-ski on Monday as I just didn't have the upper body strength to cope with it, so we tried the Kart Ski on Tuesdayperfect! It was made for me. I did the blue Jandri runs yesterday and was more confident than when I've done them on stand up skis. As I said, I'll be in touch when I get home, but I just wanted to let you know my dreams have come true and I wanted to thank you as soon as I could.... I've already cried a few times with Loic!!!!!! Thanks again and speak soon. » Sue
We will be updating this post once we get photos and more feedback from Sue – in the meantime we are thrilled that this dream has come true!!
