Skiing with Cerebral Palsy in Arcs 1950
Mia in Tessier dual ski pilot with her sisters
Mia's mother had contacted Ski 2 Freedom to find out about which ski school would be best to give her the disability skiing she needed and we recommended ESF Les Arcs 2000. “The holiday was great - perfect place for the girls including Mia. Everything very convenient, the apartment was great and pleased that we went for bigger size. All very kid-friendly and good for Mia though they didn't have a great number of choices of different disability skis for Mia to use so weren't able to upgrade her. It felt like Disneyland in snow with the girls eating Barbie candy-floss after a hard days skiing - whatever happened to hot chocs!!!"
From Mia's perspective Les Arcs was a great resort for wheelchairs and the apartment we had was big and on the slopes. The ski school picked her up from the centre of town which was a 5 minute walk and we skied straight from there and finished up there. The instructor Mia had was great fun, very experienced and really made it for Mia, constantly making her laugh and joking with her. We went when there wasn't much snow so the town was v easy to get around but I think even when covered in snow there are paths and the ski school offered us snow chains for the wheelchair. Only downside I would say was the lack of choice of handiski, but as I have no other experiences to base this on maybe there isn't much choice is any other resort. Thanks for all your help Catherine” Katie Brooks
