We understand there are some great opportunities to be had for disabled and special needs skiing in Australia but as yet we have made no personal assessment - watch this space!!

However, we do have some information from a disabled skier (L2 partial paraplegic) who skis not just in Mt. Mount Hotham but also in Japan and the US.

"We are members of the Able Management Group (AMG) and do all our skiing at Mount Hotham which has a good adaptive program and is very supportive of disabled skiers through half price tickets for skiers and their buddies as well as half price lessons through the ski school. Disabled Winter Sport Australia is the peak body and runs the elite training programs etc. I have seen them at Mt Hotham, but I think they are most active in Falls Creek in Victoria and Thredbo in NSW www.disabledwintersport.com.au. We stay at a Club lodge of which there are many with good shuttle bus access. There are lots of ski-in ski-out options as well."
