Idris's mother and carer talk about the calming effect that being in the mountains has had on Idris. He enjoyed swimming in the mornings and skiing in the afternoons which all provided Idris and his family with a new lease of life, and opened their eyes as to how beneficial winter sports can be on a child with a severe disability, illustrating how a disability becomes an ability.

The holiday to La Plagne was co-ordinated by Ski 2 Freedom under their Tobell Winter Sports Programme helping young people and those close to them become empowered. The family stayed at the fully wheelchair accessible and welcoming Hotel Araucaria which is fully ski in and ski out.
