Caroline talks about the positive effect that skiing has had on her son Loclan who has Cerebral Palsy. The family took their first ever ski holiday in La Plagne, staying at the Hotel Araucaria in the group ski holiday co-ordinated by Ski 2 Freedom for young people benefiting from the Tobell Winter Sport Programme.

Catherine Cosby, Founder of Ski 2 Freedom, met Caroline two years ago at the Forces Additional Needs and Disability Committee and discussed how winter sports could enhance Loclan's and the family's life. Loclan had already participated in holiday arranged by SSAFA for children with disabilities and additional needs from the Armed Services but these were only summer activities. Caroline is keen to continue winter activities, to have more independence with her family she is learning how to guide the Tessier sit-ski herself.
