Finding resorts...
Disabled and adaptive skiing was demonstrated for the first time in Jahorina and Bjelasnica during the Winter Olympics 1984. We do not have more information but it could still be a great and cheap option for the more intrepid and independent disabled skier or snowboarder…. Ski 2 Freedom is trying to find out more so we can update you on what is available and how the lift system works for sit-skiers in Jahorina, Bjelasnica and the other ski resorts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Let us know if you can help - contact us.

Skiing in Bosnia and Herzegovina will give you great pleasure and relaxation during winter holidays. Ski resorts like Jahorina, Bjelašnica and Kupres will provide all lovers of skiing and winter activities with excellent conditions, and the prices are far more lower compared to other countries. If you decide to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina you can enjoy your snow adventure at great ski resorts and additional facilities at affordable prices. There are also many other, smaller ski resorts in the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina for one to explore. (Text courtesy of www.adriatic.hr).
Accessing the mountain restaurants and meeting up with family and friends is an important part of having a totally inclusive holiday. Some of the gondolas or chairlifts may take wheelchairs and for non-skiers this is a great opportunity to go up and join in the fun. A pedestrian pass normally available from the ski lift office and the tourist office will be delighted to help with other activities. (This may well give you access to other facilities within the resort)
Please note that Ski 2 Freedom has not yet personally assessed either the resort or the disabled/adaptive snow-sports available at the resort From our information that we have at present, the resort offers some disabled/adaptive snow-sports:
All resorts are now offering fantastic activities for the non-skier or for the family just wishing to take some special time together. Gastronomic delights and exceptional local and international cuisine are now also very much a part of what a resort can offer visitors.
Walks, nature exploration, spa and well-ness give someone a much needed chance to rest, recuperate and restore energy and zen!
Winter walking trails: many of these are accessible with pushchairs and wheelchairs, depending on snow conditions, and more information can normally be found at the Tourist Office. Remember there are often local people using these!
