Fun skiing in La Berra for two kids with learning difficulties and their mother, a blind skier

Helen Harle who is a blind skier and her two children, David and Kathyrn - both of whom have autism and learning difficulties spent the February 2010 half term holiday skiing in La Berra and near by Gstaad Saanenland. Helen stayed with Andrew Toomey and his wife who live in La Roche a beautiful village situated below La Berra ski slopes. Andrew was Helen's coach and ski guide when she was ski racing and in the British Team.

Helen's two children learnt to ski in La Plagne (Ski 2 Freedom had organised the ski instruction and accommodation for the Harle family in France) and La Berra was an ideal location for them to find their ski-legs and develop their confidence on skis. Both children have learning difficulties and have discovered amazing confidence in life through their skiing experiences.

Catherine Cosby, the Director of Ski 2 Freedom, spent a day skiing with the Harle family and Andrew Toomey in La Berra.
